Today we are talking about the Shrewsbury International Comedy Festival 2023. We have idly watched by as this magnificent event rolls into town year after year. So we are very pleased to be in amongst it this year.
Alex is joined my Canadian comedy superstar JJ Whitehead and festival organisers Beth McGowan and Neville Street.
We spend the first half of the show talking to JJ about his career and how he crafts his material. JJ also talks about his work with Jim Jeffries as his warm-up act. Now living in L.A, but over here in the UK, JJ is currently working up and down Britain, touring. So we are very grateful to be talking to him today.
The second half is spent talking about the Comedy Festival itself. JJ has fond memories of performing at Henry Tudor House to a packed out room in 2019. Beth and Neville discuss the acts that will be performing at the Festival from Thursday 13th July.
JJ is performing again this year and he is NOT to be missed. His show this year is on Saturday 15th July at 5pm, he will be performing at Albert & Co Frankville. The tickets are a steal at £8, especially with the hilarious show you’re going to get.
The link for tickets to JJ’s performance is right here, get those tickets in folks: https://www.theatresevern.co.uk/shows/comedy/jj-whitehead/
