The Shrewsbury Biscuit Podcast: Word Up! At Shrewsbury Food Festival 2023

It’s the 10 year anniversary of Shrewsbury Food Festival, the sun is shining and The Quarry is absolutely buzzing with activity. Alex and Verity are on site for another spectacular event with mics in-hand, ready to document this fine occasion.

To add a fun twist on interviews for this episode Alex and Verity are going head to head in a game called Word Up! A game where they take random words that were sent in by the public and they have to wedge them into interviews. First (or nearest) to 30 words used wins.

This game takes nothing away from the great interviews that they had with Lingen Davies, Chef Rob Gibson, (https://www.instagram.com/rootsandwingschef/) Sandeep Kumar from The Manhattans, (https://www.instagram.com/theminhattans/) Chef Chris Burt, (https://www.instagram.com/chefchrisburt/) and what Food Festival would it be without a chat with TV chef Jean-Christophe Novelli. (https://www.instagram.com/jeanchristophe_novelli/) Alex and Verity finish off their day by speaking to a chef called David who was helping out at the Chefs Locker tent by cooking some tasty bites that were enjoyed on-mic. He has a fantastic Instagram with lots of sexy looking food right here (https://www.instagram.com/spice_punch/)

This event is always such a perfect event for The Biscuit, with plenty of people to speak to and lots to look at. We got caught short this year with a force dip out of the Sunday coverage. Nonetheless this is a great episode and Word Up! Just made all the more fun to record.

Congratulations to Beth Heath and the Shropshire Festivals team for 10 years of such a fantastic event. Shrewsbury Food Festival holds such a special place in our hearts here at the Biscuit, with so many fond memories.
