Thank you so much the staff at Shrewsbury School for letting me come and do my thing during this fantastic tour. It was a genuine honour to get the opportunity to soak all of this history up in such close quarters. Dr Brooke-Smith and Naomi Nicholas, you were fantastic. Also thank you for telling me about Charles Darwin being hoodwinked by his friends into trying to ‘acquire’ a free Shrewsbury Cake (later known as biscuit) from the bakery on Castle street, made my day.
