Today we are coming from the Queens Baton Relay event in Shrewsbury Quarry. This event was put together by Shropshire Council, Shrewsbury BID and Shropshire Festivals to celebrate the Birmingham Commonwealth Games and the Queens Baton that had travelled all around the world, to 19 different countries that make up the Commonwealth. The English leg of the baton’s tour took 25 days and visited counties up and down the country.
We were invited to set up a studio and do our thing. AL is joined by his good friend Alexander Westwood to co-host. Mr Westwood someone AL had acted with at Shrewsbury Prison for a couple of years and someone who appears fearless behind a mic. Here is a collection of interviews that were conducted during the day.
We have sports events organisers, a BBC Radio DJ, a social media explorer, a fire-breather some old faces, some new and a lot of fun, pun-tastic content, all with local interests in mind.
If you enjoy this episode please let us know as it helps us get invites to more local events.
Special thanks to the team at Shropshire Festivals, the support you have given me over the years is truly moving, I cannot thank you enough. Then there’s my co-host for the day Alex, you were fantastic and your input was phenomenal. Thank you so much, I’d love to have you back soon.
