Join Alexs Whiteley and Westwood as the take a walk around Battlefield 1403 during the Battle of Shrewsbury Weekend.
The guys hit record just after the battle re-enactment had finished (see our YouTube channel for the video of the Battle) and go for a walk around to get a feel for the place. Speaking to re-enactors, horse trainers, creators of hand-made phallically designed leather works and catch-up with the folks from Nidhoggr Mead (from last year’s show.)
Of course the Alexs had to check in with event organiser Matthew Howarth to find out how planning had gone and his thoughts on the day so far.
Alex Westwood was walking around dressed like Dr Who, so if you hear random references from the show, this is why. I want to say thank you so much to Matthew for inviting us, everyone who spoke to us and also, everyone who attended the event. I believe these events are so important as they offer a genuine practical history experience. This could be a catalyst for historians of the future. – AL
P.S I had to Google how to write Alex plural, this is new!
