Shrewsbury Biscuit

The Shrewsbury Biscuit Podcast: Nigel Baker

Alex Whiteley September 3, 2020

Background
share close

AL gets to speak to Nigel Baker an archaeologist who not only took part in the dig at Shrewsbury castle last year, but is going to be doing a new dig in September. Getting a second bite at the cherry, Nigel and his team are going to be peeling back the turf inside the grounds of the inner bailey of the castle, right where the Victorian greenhouses once stood. The goal being to find evidence of the mysterious St Nicholas chapel.

We also find out about archaeology in the river, which is a passion of Nigel’s.

This a fascinating interview that was never meant to happen on the day that it did, but I’m glad we got the chance to do it, I feel honoured to have shared the airwaves with Nigel  – AL
